Noted North Coast garden designer Kate Frey will talk about how to
design a bee-friendly flower garden on March 5 at the Mendocino Coast
Botanical Garden.
Frey, who specializes in sustainable or organic habitat gardens, has just published a new book on the subject, “The Bee-Friendly Garden,” by Ten Speed Press and written in collaboration with Gretchen LeBuhn, a professor at San Francisco State University.
Frey has years of experience creating habitat gardens and designed The Melissa Bee Garden in Healdsburg.
The class will be from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is $20 or $10 for garden members and master gardeners, and includes day admission to the gardens. Class size is limited, so people are urged to sign up ahead of time by calling 964-4352 ext. 16. The Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden is at 18220 Highway 1, Fort Bragg.
